About

“Mariana: No Return” is a one‑week game jam project for 1‑BIT JAM 8 that turns a relentless descent into a tense arcade experience. You play a deep‑sea operator on a one‑way descent into the abyss, your challenge is to dodge waves of procedurally spawning fish. Reach the bottom and the journey resolves in a crafted cutscene that reveals the ending.

Built in Unity with custom screen pixelation shader for the one‑bit look, the project focuses on clarity and feel over visual complexity. I implemented the player movement, enemy-spawning logic, menus, and environment lighting. I made the player sprite myself because the artist was unavailable.
